Akari by Isamu Noguchi - Japanese Light Sculptures
Akari is the defining work of Isamu Noguchi's life - a collection of more than 200 washi paper lantern sculptures created in Gifu, Japan in 1951. Using washi paper and bamboo ribbing, Noguchi created forms that function as both lamp and sculpture. Every Akari lamp is manufactured by Ozeki - the sole maker of Akari in Gifu, Japan.

Isamu Noguchi's Akari collection has remained in continuous production since 1951. Washi paper and bamboo produce a quality of diffused warmth that no synthetic material has replicated. Our collection includes pendant lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, and replacement shades.
