Gifu Lamps - Handcrafted Japanese Paper Lighting

Gifu lamps represent over ninety years of Japanese paper lantern craftsmanship from the Gifu prefecture - the same region where Isamu Noguchi created his Akari collection. The collection features three distinct collaborations: the Edohotaru by Barber & Osgerby - the celebrated British design duo who reimagined the traditional Japanese lantern as a modern "firefly"; the Aerofoil by Sebastian Conran - a sculptural paper shade with a Nagarasugi cedar base; and the Asano Paper Moon by Shigeru Uchida - bamboo and washi paper lamps in the purest Japanese tradition.
