Artemide | Nesso Table Lamp Ruby Red Collection
MODEL OPTIONS:
The table lamp Nesso by Artemide stands as a reference point in Italian design from the 1960s, a period marked by the pursuit of modernity and the transformation of domestic environments through the introduction of plastic materials. Its expressive form, inspired by natural elements, reflects a dialogue between creativity and industrial production techniques.
Characterized by its innovative use of plastics, the table lamp Nesso suggests a measured balance between organic inspiration and technological advancement. The silhouette, both fluid and distinctive, can accompany a variety of contemporary interiors, offering a discreet yet recognizable presence. The lamp’s design explores the possibilities of industrial manufacturing, resulting in a piece that is both functional and visually engaging, suited to living rooms, studies, or bedrooms where ambient lighting is desired.
The interplay of form and materiality remains central to the perception of the table lamp Nesso. Its reissue in the "Ruby Red Collection" introduces a renewed chromatic dimension, enhancing its visual impact while maintaining the integrity of its original concept. This approach allows the lamp to integrate seamlessly into modern spaces, where design and innovation are valued in equal measure.
Founded in Milan in 1959, Artemide is the definitive Italian lighting brand — the company behind some of the most iconic lamps ever made. The Tizio (Richard Sapper, 1972) conducts electricity through its counterbalanced arm, eliminating visible cables entirely. The Tolomeo (Michele De Lucchi, 1987) adjusts to any angle with one hand and never dates. The Nesso mushroom, the mouth-blown Gople, the modular Alphabet of Light by BIG — each one a permanent reference point in contemporary design, several in MoMA's permanent collection.
Artemide calls its philosophy "The Human Light" — the idea that a lamp should respond to the person using it, not the other way around. Every piece is engineered to be adjusted, repositioned, and lived with for decades. LED technology is integrated without compromise: the brand has won five Red Dot Awards, two Interior Design Best of Year Awards, and the iF Product Design Award for a collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.
As an authorised Artemide retailer, Modernnest carries the full collection — table, floor, wall, pendant and outdoor — with free shipping on most orders.
